Network engineering and security

Business Network Engineering and Cybersecurity

Synnex Technologies designs, improves, secures, and troubleshoots business networks ranging from small office environments to complex routed, multi-site, and data-center-connected systems. The objective is dependable connectivity that remains understandable, supportable, and appropriately protected.

Fiber-optic network connections attached to rack-mounted equipment

Start with the connectivity or security problem.

Is this for you?

For unreliable Wi-Fi, disconnected locations, aging firewalls, remote-access needs, or security gaps.

What to expect

A scoped network improvement, with configuration, validation, and documentation appropriate to the work.

How scope and cost are set

Scope depends on sites, equipment, existing conditions, security requirements, and implementation windows. Hardware and licensing are identified in the proposal.

Architecture before products

Connect people, locations, applications, and infrastructure deliberately.

Network work begins with traffic, dependencies, security boundaries, performance, continuity, existing systems, and operational requirements. Equipment is selected after the design is understood.

Network architecture and engineering

Design and troubleshooting for straightforward business networks, complex routed environments, internet edges, data centers, cloud connectivity, and multi-site organizations.

Routing, switching, and WAN design

Dynamic routing, route selection, network convergence, resilient routing, switching, addressing, capacity, and difficult connectivity problems.

Multi-site connectivity

Secure connections between headquarters, branches, warehouses, production facilities, medical offices, remote locations, and centralized applications.

Business Wi-Fi

Coverage analysis, access point placement, secure SSIDs, guest access, roaming considerations, performance optimization, VLAN integration, and troubleshooting.

Network segmentation

VLANs, security zones, firewall boundaries, guest networks, voice, servers, vendors, operational devices, and isolated application environments.

Firewalls and secure access

Internet-edge security, filtering, VPN, remote access, identity-aware policies, monitoring, and appropriate Zero Trust or ZTNA evaluation.

Data-center and application networking

Server and application connectivity, switching, routing, segmentation, firewall boundaries, redundancy, high availability, and dependency troubleshooting.

Network monitoring and lifecycle

Availability and performance monitoring, configuration review, documentation, equipment selection, implementation, maintenance, and replacement planning.

Multi-site network design

Connect complete business locations securely.

Headquarters, branches, warehouses, production facilities, medical offices, and remote sites may need dependable access to shared applications, servers, voice services, cloud resources, or each other.

Site-to-site VPNCreates an encrypted network-to-network connection so authorized systems at separate locations can communicate according to defined routing and security policies.
Remote-access VPNConnects an individual authorized user or device to business resources rather than joining two complete locations.
Coordinated routing and securityAddressing, route selection, overlapping networks, firewalls, identity, segmentation, DNS, and application dependencies are considered across every location.

WAN resiliency and SD-WAN

Reduce dependence on one circuit and choose the better path when conditions change.

Organizations that rely heavily on cloud applications, hosted voice, remote locations, or centralized systems may benefit from multiple internet or WAN connections. Broadband, fiber, cellular, and other available services can be combined according to location, performance requirements, and budget.

SD-WAN can monitor link availability, latency, packet loss, and jitter, then apply business-priority policies, performance-based path selection, automatic failover, traffic steering, or load distribution where appropriate. Synnex Technologies has practical SD-WAN experience in FortiGate environments and can evaluate other platforms against the same business, routing, security, and support requirements.

Basic dual-WAN failover and a fuller SD-WAN design are not always the same. The appropriate approach depends on whether the business needs simple circuit backup, application-aware decisions, site connectivity, policy control, or more detailed performance monitoring.

Wireless and physical connectivity

Design business Wi-Fi and cabling around the space and devices.

Reliable wireless service depends on more than adding access points. Coverage, capacity, interference, roaming, security, device behavior, wired uplinks, switching, and the building itself affect the result.

Wi-Fi assessment and design

Coverage analysis, access point placement, SSIDs, authentication, guest access, device isolation, VLAN integration, high-density considerations, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Structured cabling planning

Cable-run layouts, network drops, Ethernet troubleshooting, smaller repairs and installations, equipment locations, and integration with the network design.

Larger cabling projects

For larger installations, Synnex Technologies can define network requirements, help select and coordinate qualified cabling resources, and oversee how the new cabling connects with switching, wireless, security, and other network systems.

Projects that require predictive RF modeling or formal heat-map deliverables begin with a scope review so the right survey tools and wireless resources are included.

Physical infrastructure can be included in the network plan.Services can include racks, access points, cameras, access-control systems, smaller cable runs, termination and certification, plus coordination of qualified low-voltage contractors for extensive cabling.

Security assessment and hardening

Connect network security to the broader protection program.

Security is an operating discipline rather than a product installed once. Network work is coordinated with identity, endpoint, email, vulnerability, monitoring, and recovery requirements.

Standalone security assessments

Review practical exposure and establish prioritized improvements without requiring a managed-services agreement.

Review assessment options

Managed cybersecurity

EDR, MDR, vulnerability management, email security, awareness training, phishing simulation, incident response, and optional 24/7 SOC monitoring.

Explore managed cybersecurity

Identity and access hardening

Account lifecycle, least privilege, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, secure remote access, and integration with managed devices and Microsoft services.

Incident remediation assistance

Initial technical assessment, isolation, account remediation, malware cleanup, configuration changes, restoration, recovery coordination, and post-incident strengthening.

Bring in the right incident specialists when needed.

Some incidents require formal digital forensics, evidence preservation, or advanced malware analysis. When those needs arise, we can help coordinate qualified specialists while continuing approved containment, remediation, and recovery work.

Modern secure access

Evaluate access according to identity, device, resource, and risk.

Traditional VPN remains appropriate in many environments. Zero Trust principles and ZTNA-based access can also be evaluated where identity-aware, device-aware, or least-privilege controls provide a better fit.

Apply Zero Trust principles to important accessAccess decisions can consider identity, device condition, resource sensitivity, location, and policy instead of assuming every internal connection is equally trusted.
Use ZTNA for targeted accessZTNA may complement or replace selected traditional remote-access patterns when identity-aware, device-aware, or application-specific controls provide a meaningful benefit.
Understand emerging SASE optionsFor distributed organizations, cloud-delivered networking and security approaches such as SASE may be considered as part of a broader strategy involving SD-WAN, ZTNA, secure web access, and cloud-delivered controls.
